Today people around the world are facing the pandemic outbreak of COVID-19 which proves that our lives have succumbed to an unpredictable state of affairs. This pandemic outbreak COVID 19 has changed the lives of many of us – like the way we live, work or even the basic activities that we perform on a daily basis. The overwhelming outbreak has affected the world at various levels resulting in economic slowdown, business blockade, trade stoppages, travel restrictions, public isolation and so on.
Need for Intervention
Government and social organisation are working hard to meet the need of the society under this current critical situation. As the need is high Redington foundation would like to share the burden in supporting the society. We have identified few segments and the areas of support we want provide in the society at large.
Foundation for CSR @ Redington
Redington Foundation has been undertaking yeoman services on caring and helping children / younger students with special needs belonging to the financially challenged families.
In the wake of sudden outbreak of COVID 19 virus threat and pandemic around the world and in our country, people of marginal and under privileged communities have been pushed to unlimited hardship of dwindling daily earning possibilities and non-availability of essential food materials required for daily living and very existence.
The foundation spearheads to encounter crucial and critical situations in the society. Under the current circumstances where the entire nation is in lockdown, we would like to address the immediate need of the hour as the source & facilities has come to a grinding halt with the advent of this pandemic.
Redington Foundation through our CSR activity, project – KARUNA would like to help the following segment of the society to face the challenge against the coronavirus.

05th May 2020: Grocery Kit distribution by Redington Foundaton to the Special Children of Madurai in association with Chamber of Differently Abled Entrepreneurship Trust.
05th May 2020: Grocery Kit distribution to the HIV / AIDS affected patients and thier family at Dindigul District.
04th May 2020: Immunity Booster Kit distribution drive completed in Hands 4 Hope Special School, Dehradun. Happy faces of children?? one more Redington foundation successful drive.
26th April 2020: Delhi Team distributed Immune booster kit to Special children of Prerna School for Special Children’s. A one day distribution drive implemented by Prerna School for Special children Gwalior on the behalf of Redington Foundation. 100 Immune Booster kits distributed to Special Children. The special children belong to slum area of Gwalior and their parents are daily wagers, during this Covid-19 situation they are unable to provide high quality food to their children.
03rd May 2020: Our foundation distributed grocery essentials to the elderly people of Sharon Elderly Home of Pondicherry.
02nd May 2020: Distribution of PPE kit for Proconnect employees. Initiative by Redington Foundation to provide safe working environment for Proconnect front line warriors who all are working on daily basis in this COVID -19 pandemic and supplies essential health products in the market.

Activities Updates
25th April 2020: Our Tirunelveli team was involved in distributing the Immune Booster Kits to the special children of Shaaron Special School, Rajapalayam and Sangamam Special School, Amarseva Sangam- Ayikudi. Totally 143 students got benefited through this activity. The parents who are the daily wagers and badly affected during this pandemic for their livelihood, told the volunteers that this a timely help rendered from the foundation for their children.
25th April 2020: Distribution of Immune Booster kit to Rosni Society Special children, in Haldwani, Uttrakhand. 28 children received the kits and felt very happy and excited. All parents are thankful to Redington Foundation for the support.
25.04.2020: Redington Foundation, Delhi, distributed 5000 Hand Gloves & face Mask to Deputy commissioner office, Rohini North District of Delhi.The Masks and gloves were distributed to Mr. Ramesh Kumar, ACP Rohini.
The police department Appreciated our efforts taken in this Covid-19 pandemic situation.
25th April 2020: Our Chennai Team distributed Grocery Kit to 150 families of the Ola Drivers and the casual workers of Redington Eco System.
24th April 2020: Our Tirunelveli team distributed Healthy food provisions kits to 155 disabled students of VOC Special School, Thoothukudi, Vidhya Prakasham Special School, Thoothukudi and Kovilpatti.
24th April 2020: 5000 gloves and masks were distributed to the Police Personnel of Amar Colony Police Station located in South Delhi.
24th April 2020: Our Delhi zone distributed Grocery Kit in the place called Soniya Vihar & Seelumpur, in North East Delhi, . Sonia Vihar area has a thick population. Merchants, workers, and clerks from all parts of India, particularly Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh, live in this area. Seelampur was established to relocate a population displaced following the demolition of their homes in North and Central Delhi during the Emergency (India). We distributed Groceries Kit among the Daily Wagers families who all are living in unauthorised colonies or in rented places mostly known by resettlement colonies of backward area with backward categories people & those who are living on streets. These people are daily wagers & some of them are migrant workers shifted from other states for earning. 100 Families got benefited through this activity.
23rd April 2020: 155 nos. of Groceries Kit was distributed among proconnect employees, Courier vendors personnels & local labour families in & around mundka industrial area.
23rd April 2020: Our Tirunelveli team distributed the Immunity Booster Kit to 45 Special Children of Dr. Soundaran Special School, Gandhigram. The kit comprises of 10 healthy food supplements and also personal hygiene materials.
After obtaining proper permission from the District Administration, we have distributed the kits to the special children in presence of Shri Murugaiah, Block Development Officer of Kadayam block.
The parents were very happy and conveyed their gratitude to Redington Foundation and Gandhigram Trust for the timely help. Our heartfelt thanks to GGM trust and District Administration for the support.
21st April 2020: Our Delhi team conducted a drive of feeding 700 Daily wagers or migrant workers families of Seelumpur & Bhajanpura areas located in North East Delhi.
21st April 2020: COVID19 support to the intellectually challenged children and their families through Redington’s KARUNA project for Akshara Special School- Vada Madurai and Sri. Mathi Karthikeayani Special School Dindigul. Ms. Hema principal for Akshara special School, Ms. Gajalakshmi, Coordinator, Mr. Vyas Karthick, CAT trust member, Mr. Sugumar, Director of Sri. Mathi Karthikeayani Special School received the essentials from our foundation and distributed to the Special Children family. Totally 74 students got benefited through this support.
20th April 2020: We Supported 80 Police Personnel of Guindy and
K K Nagar Police stations by providing the masks.
20th April 2020: We supported Kanchi Kamakoti CHILDS Trust Hospital by providing 50 nos. of PPE kit and 500 nos of Masks. The Medical Director was so overwhelmed by our gesture. He called upon all the Medical Professionals handling the Isolation Ward and explained them about our support. He also said that we can approach him in future if we need any support from the hospital side.
20th April 2020: Our Thanjavur team members distributed 150 bedspreads and masks to the nomads/beggars (who are made to stay temporarily in Govt. College by Thanjavur corporation) in the presence of Government officials, Dr.Radhika Michael, crisis intervention head.
17 April 2020: We distributed the essentials to the casual workers of the Proconnect, who works at Reliance Warehouse of Tumkur District, Karnataka. 350 workers were benefited through this.
17th April 2020: Our Tirunelveli team helped the Spinner and Weavers family of Idaikal, VK Puram, Pappankulam, Keelapavoor and Sankarankoil by supplying the essentials
16th April 2020: We supported the intellectually challenged children of three institutions at Madurai. 14 nutritious food items and the essentials are delivered to 150 beneficiaries.
15-04-2020: In association with Ramakrishna Mission we conducted relief work for the daily-wage earning families from the lowest strata of society. 298 daily-wage earning families in Madayambakkam village in Cheyyur taluk, Chengalpattu district, around 85kms away from Chennai were given the following food articles — Rice-298kgs, Sugar-596kgs, Toor dal-596kgs, Urad dal- 298kgs, Bengalgram dal-298kgs, Moong dal-298kgs, Vermicelli-298kgs, Atta-298kgs, Ragi flour-298kgs, Oil-298ltrs, salt-298kgs, Mustard, cumin, chilli,turmeric and sambar powders-29.8kgs each and cloth 447 meters were distributed.
12th April 2020. Providing Essential to the needy – Relief measures in the form of essential items distributed to the needy people of the Karuthanamedu village of Tiruvallur District.
08th April 2020: We supported the disabled families came in the reference of IRCDS in Tiruvallur District. Subsequently we also received the request from Pro Connect to support the Tahsildar fund. Based on these requests we decided to support the needy families in nearby village to our Pro connect warehouse. We reached out the Collector through IRCDS and initiated the program on the 8th of April. The Collector was kind enough to accept our request and initiated the distribution. Through this activity, the hunger of 100 families has been taken care for a period of one month.
