Project “HP WOW” – HP World on Wheels is called as “A Mobile World Of Connectivity” in their own terms. Digital buses offer a unique mobility solution to bridge the digital divide between the urban and the rural / semi-rural parts of the country. HP WoW is a 20-seater; IT-enabled bus which is equipped with the latest computing and printing equipment as well as numerous software and e-learning tools.
In 2019 we have collaborated with HP to reach the people through HP WoW, under our direct implementation we also sensitised 25,500 people in rural areas at Tanjore and Trichiy districts of Tamil Nadu, in various topics i.e. Digital literacy training module completed for school students, IT literacy training module completed for college students, Entrepreneurship awareness workshop to women, COVID awareness to common public, Fitness program and health awareness program to sports persons. Awareness given to special children’s parents on Government job opportunities for their special children and Career guidance & emerging industrial trends – to college students.
Presently we are providing digital literacy for the 6th to 8th classes students in Athoor block villages, Dindigul district of Tamil Nadu. It focused to promote student’s computer knowledge and cognitive development of the students in rural areas, to support computerized online reliable data services to the community and provide facilitation support to the youth on employment. Through this we reached 1307 school students from rural areas including youths and 20,000 community people through awareness programs like usage of plastics, Improper Garbage disposal, water stagnation in the drains, and water collection points.
